Welcome one and all to the Farmgirl Friday blog hop # 63! The place where romance meets rustic, fields flourish, bee's buzz and backyards bustle with farmgirl/guy ingenuity every day of the week!
If you're the sort that likes to can it, bake it, cook it, grow it, raise it, and share it... read on!
There's so much to learn from this online community of kindred spirits!
As for this farmgirl, life is busy but good! Everything is planted and thriving here at Dandelion House, thank goodness... The veggie garden was the last to go in this year due to the cut flower garden taking priority, but if all goes well we'll have plenty of tomatoes to share! The seedlings I started in the greenhouse all did great. I have a feeling I'll be wanting send you some through the ether's come harvest time!
As if we didn't have enough going on in the farmyard here at home, we decided to put in a small community garden at the BEACH this year!

I have to agree, the plant marker idea is a good one!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend Deborah Jean.
You are off to a great start, and even though you say you are a bit late in getting in the garden, it takes off quickly in the summer weather. I am putting in more tomatoes this weekend. I pulled up the old sunflowers and have about 4 feet of space. I can't waste that so more tomatoes will go in.
ReplyDeleteI love the blind plant marker idea. I have an old one in the garage and will use this idea. Thank you for sharing it! I find the best information from country gals!
Have a wonderful day!
Hi Carla,
DeleteYou're right about the late start with warmer weather... In some ways its' better than fretting over whether it's too cold or wet for things to get off to a good start! Thanks so much for the visit!
Love the plant markers! Everything looks lovely,we have had so much rain everything has had a late start, its all good though.
ReplyDeleteI posted my homestead garden tour!
Have a happy summer :)
I linked up this week :) :) I'm really excited to read some of the other blogs and I think your plant markers are really cute :) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and have a wonderful weekend : )
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Deana! Happy weekend!
DeleteI have been using mini blinds for years as it is such a great idea, but I use pencil to mark them then I can erase and reuse them. For some reason I find the permanent pens fade in the sun and the pencil never does. Try both and see what you think.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very clever and frugal idea for plant markers. Love it! (I just shared it on Your Gardening Friend's Facebook page.)
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Hi Deborah Jean: Thank you so much for hosting the Farmgirl blog hop. Surprisingly, at least to me, I have a post appropriate for the hop today--hope you enjoy it
