Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 207

Howdy friends! Welcome back to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!
Your place to share your best recipes, crafts, DIY projects, farm stories, farm animal tips, and vintage treasures and what ever else you fancy.

I hope you are all settling in to fall. It's such a wonderful time of year for getting out and enjoying milder weather, beautiful scenery and delicious food that celebrates harvest season.

Where have we been the last month? I apologize for going missing. This farmgirl had her hands busy with all things flowers this year and somehow our little ole hop ended up at the bottom of the pile. It was a season of growth inside and out!
Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash with Craisins
It's about to get cold and dark out and we're gonna need each-other over the long winter months ahead. To spice things up in our kitchen, I promised myself I would make more " new recipes" rather than fall-back on my old stand-by meals. This week I made a delicious Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash with Craisins and boy was it yummy! I found the recipe online in MaryJanesFarm Recipe of the
Week. You can read all about it in my Beach Farmgirl post here.

What have you been cooking up now that the weather has a chill in it? Do tell!

My farmgirl co-hostess, Debbie and I have missed our hop so let's get to it!

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 161 & My Tiny Harvest

Welcome back farmgirl friends and happy Farmgirl Friday. I'm so glad you are here to share what's doin' on your family farms and homesteads. June is an exciting time for us farmgirls isn't it?
Things are finally starting to bloom and most of our seeds and seedlings are in! This week one of my peonies came into bloom and the fragrance is just intoxicating. I've got three bouquet's in my kitchen/dining room area and I'm in heaven with the shear beauty and scent of these lovely old fashioned blooms. As I cut a bucket full to make bouquets I couldn't help but feel over joyed at the beauty of these blooms. After all, they are only here for such a short time!

Just like the ripe strawberries I picked from the garden too! Heck, I didn't even plant these little puppies. I'm pretty the previous owners planted them in a little bed at one time. When we expanded that same garden area I just left them there to see what would happen. They continue to spread and thrive. I wish I knew what variety they are.

Last year we got one tiny bowl of berries and the birds got the rest. This year the bounty was a little bigger and I think we'll get one more bowl full before our strawberry harvest season is over.

These didn't last long. I washed them and we at them as soon as I brought them in. No cooking, canning, or storing with such a tiny harvest. Just mouthwatering pleasure and instant farmgirl gratification! It's not the size of your plot or pot that makes your homestead " successful". When you appreciate every little growing thing you plant and care for you'll be blessed with bountiful rewards with the tiniest of harvests.

Lastly, I got my herbs and veggies planted in my raised beds yesterday under a very cloudy sky. Today, it's raining down on them!

It's hard to believe in a few short weeks it will look like this again!

What are you feeling especially happy about on your homesteads this June? Are you having success and trying new things? How about any challenges?
Link up and share your gardens, home remedies, recipes, and homesteading wisdom with your favorite farmgirls! And be sure to stop by and see my co-hostess Debbie at Farmgirl Unleashed .

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 148 and The Farmgirl Buzz!

Dear friends, Welcome back to your favorite Friday Blog Hop for farmgirls far and wide!

I'm so happy March has finally arrived here in the northeast. Even though we are still experiencing unusually cold weather for this time of year I know without a doubt that soon I'll be spending more time outdoors cleaning the greenhouse, raking left over leaves out of the flower beds and planting seeds for this years flower crop!
Plus, I've got a long list of DIY projects for inside! This is the year we are FINALLY going to finish our ECO-FRIENDLY kitchen re-do we started a few years ago. It started with refacing the kitchen cabinets, and a new vintage inspired farm sink. NEW floors and a NEW island top are top of the list, plus as always there will be furniture and walls to paint! I'll do my best to share as we go!

It was so fun to welcome Debbie " Farmgirl Unleashed " to our little party wasn't it? I love her farmgirl spirit and I hear she has a fun featured farmgirl for you this week!
I'm guessing some of you got your farmgirl spunk back by the looks of how many entries we had last week!  I was thrilled to see our party tip the  party scale at over 100 entries!  I'm so happy we are moving into fall and cooler weather.  I definitely feel sharper and more " with it " ! I'm looking forward to more cooking inside, nice walks and finally getting to my fall To-Do list.

Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 119

Welcome to Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 119!
Summer is filled to the brim with so many good things isn't it?
Great weather, FARM FRESH FOOD, spending time with family and friends and if we're lucky spending time in the shade chewin' on a blade of grass, getting our feet wet at the nearest watering hole, or sitting around a campfire in the deep woods, or the backyard looking up at the stars.

The links you share each week are as varied as there are summertime activities to fit in before harvest season begins.

This weeks features come straight from the cow yard!

Mrs. H from Heritage Schoolhouse shares her update about baby calf " Uno " Isn't he just precious?

Mother Hen Mary Jane welcomed her newest baby girl home Eliza Jane home  ( her mini cow Etta Jane's first off spring ). You've got to go read both of these posts and come back and tell me if you don't have eyelash envy! I sure do! It's a double dose of cuteness!

And, last but not least, I spotted this   BLUE Bull on the beach last week while we were away at the cottage. Not so cute, I know, but interesting, right? RIGHT?

Come see me on the shorelines to read all about it on the MaryJanesFarm BEACH FARMGIRL blog!

Time to link up for your weekly dose of farmgirl soulfood!
