My Vintage Homestead Business Cards Survey!

Front
Dear friends,
What am I doing up so late on a Monday night? No, I don't have indigestion, or insomnia or incontinence but, thank you for asking. :) What I do have is a case of IN-decision!
I've been plugging away off and on all day creating my new business cards for My Vintage Homestead Etsy shop! I promised you I'd post again when I came up with something to include inside each package for my customers remember? Good!

 Now I need your help!
If you were a customer ,which one of these two cards would you prefer to receive with your purchase?

A traditional size business card ( pictured above and below)

Back
 Or,
a postcard ( [pictured below ) which is larger in size, easier to find, and perhaps prettier to look at?

Back
I'm having a heck of a time deciding cuz I love them both!
Would you be so kind and vote for your favorite?

Me thanks you!

PS. I used Vista Print to create them! I don't get any compensation for stating that, I just like their templates, prices and print quality.

  1. Hi Deb!
I used Vista print to make my cards too. I made two sets...both business card size. My first set was too busy in the back ground and hard to read. The second set I went with was their template and much more uniform.
I like the the post card style... I have several postcards from vintage places... they are pretty to look at and they look nice on the bulletin board. (decorative and pretty)
The business card style is a good size for purses or wallets. (practical)
I'm so indecisive...and probably no help.
I'm voting for ---business card. (practical aspect)

    1. Thank so much Pat.. I agree, the business card is practical... I also like your idea of a pretty post card tucked into a bulletin board too!

  3. I am a practical, previous business owner of a gift store and BnB, I would have to vote for the business card. I have used Visaprint and loved my business cards, I got some notepads made up as well. The postcard is very nice, but I think people will hang onto a business card more. Be sure to stop by my blog to enter my giveaway of some handmade gift cards :). Now, get some sleep girl!!

  4. Hi Deb, Good luck with your new adventure, something I would like to do if I ever find my niche, and make it profitable. I prefer the second because I am visual and it is pretty. Business cards are nice too, and if I really want to remember and find someone, something with a pretty picture like the one you have I'm more likely to keep around.

    1. Hi Faith,
Thank you for weighing in! I may just have to print them both! LOL! I'm more visual as well, and I would be more likely to think of a pretty post card rather than a business card as well. But I do have a practical side as well... Pretty or Practical?

  5. Love #2! I don't tend to save business cards; I put the info in outlook or evernote and toss. Pretty postcards however... I like to save favs. PLUS you can tell your story and it is really colorful and pretty.

  6. Thanks Debbie! I'm leaning toward # 2 as well...I think??? LOL! I do like the aspect of telling my story on the backside too!

  7. I like the post card type one..however it would probably get thrown out...UNLESS you put a magnet on it so they would put it on their fridge or filing cabinet...if you want to actually carry your card to give to other people by hand from time to time go with the typical business card. You can still do the magnet thing with those.

  8. I love the postcard idea but i feel there's too much verbiage on the back and all the words just run together. Maybe just punch that up a little bit? Make it short and sweet I learned from my time in the news business people don't like to read more than they have to LOL

    1. Patricia,
Thank you for your editorial eye! I do have room for revision there! I'm working on it! :)

  9. I like the postcard because it's more personal and I think it helps build that relationship with your buyer on Esty. If you printed a little less on the back it would give you space for a hand written note, even more personal.

    1. I like your idea to add a personal note on the back! A place to say THANK YOU!

    2. I really love that idea! That would make this the perfect solution!

  10. I like the postcard because you can do more with it and I really like what you did with it! :)

  11. It was hard to decide because the first cards look so clean and professional.
But, honestly, I like the second choice because it is more personal and I can
visualize what your mercandise might be.

  12. Ah... Yes! I want my customers to visualize ( or have an impression of ) what sorts of items I will be offering. Thank you for your input!

  13. The design of the second one is attention-grabbing, but I think it's too personalized. I like the first one better. It exudes elegance in its simplicity and is able to show off your love for vintage through that small caricature on the side. Whichever you decided to have, make sure to have them printed in the best quality possible since they would be carrying your name. Good luck!
