Have you heard the rumor? My Dahlia's have decided to run for Miss Dahlia USA and you get to vote for your favorite! Starlets I tell ya, each and every one of them!
Miss Enchanting
Miss Silky
Miss Exotic
Miss 'Classy
Miss Lovely
Time to cast your votes! Can you choose a favorite?
If you're wondering if you can grow dahlias in your garden zone check out the Farmers Almanac site for more info!
Oh Deb,I am no help at all. I can't decide between Miss Silky, Miss Robust, and Miss Lovely. They're all superstars to me. They're AMAZING. I have got to come take some lessons in flower gardening from you one of these days.
Don't feel bad Heidi! I can't choose a favorite either! :) You asked about the Sunflowers... Botanical interest: Drop Dead Red Seeds ( for the red centered sunflower) and Autumn Beauty Heirloom Seeds for the rest are also botanical interests. I do hope you grow some for yourself next year! I've been thrilled with the look and performance of each so far!
I can't choose just one, but my favorites are Miss Robust and Miss Lovely! Your inspiring me to grow flowers! But the heat here in Miss. is stifling ~ would Dahlia's still do well down here?
Donna, they really are easy to grow... check out this link for more info to find out how they would do in your garden zone. Good luck!!!One way to find out is to visit your local garden center and ask if they carry dahlias. Usually they won't stock a plant that doesn't do well in your zone. I became inspired when I saw several varieties at my garden center last spring!
Thank you Carolynn, I've been thrilled with them too! My first year growing them has been a learning experience for sure, but well worth it... Thanks for the note!

Your dahlias are so beautiful. They remind me so much of my Gramma! She always had them in her garden.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend,
Carolynn

Miss Enchanted and Miss exotic are the two dahlias that my Dad raised. They are my favorties to this day.
Oh, how special Debbie! Beautiful memory! Thanks for sharing...
