FREE I tells ya!
Do you swerve your vehicle with the reckless abandon of a woman on the loose when you spot one of " these " out of your window?
Isn't it purty? I love the industrial vibe this vintage GraybaR Rotary Sewing Machine has don't you? I'd never seen one like this before! It's not as pretty as some of the very ornate antique Singer sewing machines but it has something special none the less. What little googling I did I learned it's most likely from the 1950's. It came with all the cords and foot petal and there's not an ounce of dust or rust on the machine itself. I still need to plug er in to see if it works! Don't get your hopes up on the cabinet. It's not so pretty. Remember avocado green with antiquing stain over the top from the 1970's? I'm pretty sure my mom painted a dresser for one of my brothers in this exact color.
What do you think? Needs some love doesn't it?
Well, now you've seen the best and the worst of my latest FREE FIND!
Help me decide what ASCP color to paint her!
Arles Yellow, Duck Egg Blue, Old White, Emperor Silk ( Red ) Barcelona Orange or how romantic would Scandinavian Pink be?
You might say it was a good day all around! Mom got a new hip and I got a new piece of the past for Burlap and Bling!
Thanks for listen'n!

Oh wow.
I would swerve my car with reckless abandon for this. I recently bought an old Viking machine...with a lovely green patina. It wasn't free...but for $15 bucks w/cabinet, well, I felt like I was stealing it.
I've had fun getting it up and running and have been sewing away with it. I hope your's runs and you get to sew with it. The cabinet is wonderful too. I like the style of it. I think some paint would do it good...and a little fabric or paper on the inside of the drawers would sure make it feel better!
...waiting to see it. Pat
Glad your mom is doing okay.
Wow! What a find! Even if it doesn't work, it would add a touch of nostalgia to any room. Can't put a price on that!
GREAT find! Sometimes you are just in the right place at the right time. My mom painted a table that very color with "antique" finish. She even did the piano with the same technique but in maroon. They are still those colors to this day. What were they thinking???
Nice finds! I like the cabinet and know your redo will make it bee-you-tee-ful! I would vote for the blue. I hope the old machine works. Maybe look up the instructions online?
Hi Pat, I love your idea of putting some pretty paper or fabric on the inside of the drawers... I think a pretty vintage floral would be lovely!
Thank you Daisy! It would be a nice blast from the past in any room wouldn't it? I'm sure someone out there collects or fancies vintage sewing machines!
I know, what was up with those colors? My mom painted the furniture in my room yellow and did that same antiquing over the top of it. It was neat at the time I guess! :)
Hi Candy C. I've been poking around eBay to try and find the instruction manual! I've seen a couple! Thanks for your vote! Deb
Great find! The cabinet has some potential... I can't wait to see what you end up doing to bring it back to life! Glad your Mom is doing good.
My vote is the Red color...that would look great with the gray machine! And what an awesome find! Hope your mom continues to do well!!
Howdy GC! Thanks for the well wishes for my mom! I'm still deciding on a color!
Ah Ha! Another Red fan! I too love Red and I'm thinking September, Apple Picking, RED... :) Thanks for the well wishes for my mom! She's doing great today!
Hope your mom's recovery goes quickly! As much as I love Red, I think Pink would look great with the grey machine. What a fun find!
I had not heard of this machine and went to search for it. Found a few things about it but also realize it looked brown not the grey that I thought in the above comment. Maybe red....
That's amazing! Can't believe that was free. Lucky you!! :)
Yes, it does look very brown in real life Brenda! I still haven't decided on a color...but I'm get'n there!
I know, right? I can't believe it either... It's going to be so fun to have it in my booth this September! :)
