An American Bouquet! Red dahlias, with blue and white hydrangea. |
Welcome back to the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!
Are you ready for a festive FARMGIRL 4th of July? What do you and your family enjoy doing for the 4th? We enjoy a traditional American holiday with all the fixins'. We usually do a cook out, and I make my strawberry/blueberry shortcake for desert. This year both kids are working on the actual holiday so we will celebrate early when we can all be together. We will find a place to ooh and ah over the fireworks and take a moment to appreciate our freedom.
Did you know there's another American celebration happening right now too? It's American Flowers Week! Debra Prinzing, author of Slow Flowers created American Flowers Week in celebration of American Grown Flowers in 50 states. What a brilliant idea!
It's an entire week set aside for sharing 100% American Grown Flowers. So of course, I'm in.
It's easy to participate. Just create a bouquet using flowers grown by you or purchased from your local flower farmer with an American theme in mind and share it on your social media using #americanflowersweek! I shared my American Bouquet ( top photo) on instagram and Facebook this week.
I'll keep you posted on flower farm happenings each week right here in my weekly garden notes posts. In the meantime, send some sunshine over to Debbie ( Farmgirl Unleashed). Her tomatoes are drowning!
Time to link up for YOUR weekly dose of farmgirl soul-food!
If you've got it flaunt it! It's Farmgirl Friday!
Debbie and I wish you all a safe and happy holiday weekend! As always, thanks for sharing your farmgirl talents with us every week!
