Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 129 & APPLES!

Welcome to the 129th Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop!
This is the time of year on the hop where we are all in danger of putting on a few extra pounds. The recipes being shared here weekly from your homestead kitchens are amazingly tantalizing.
I am pinning them all to the Farmgirl Friday Recipe Box. Yep, they're all YOUR recipes and a few of mine sprinkled in. We have 796 following and pinning away! How fun is that?
Being the savvy homesteaders you are, you already know that October is National Apple month.
This weeks Featured Farmgirl award goes to none other than Mrs. H. of The Heritage Schoolhouse blog. She shared a dozen ways to enjoy National Apple Month featuring traditional apple recipes we all know and love. About the only thing she didn't do was press her own cider!

Apple Cinnamon Scones
Mrs. H, I hope you're reading today. You really need to write a cook book! REALLY!
Those scones are on my weekend  baking list!

As for this farmgirl I've been cleaning and  de-cluttering, making way for more fun fall projects here at home. I've yet to take the leap into fall due to some catching up on paperwork I've had to do. But I'm ready now. You can read all about my Slooooow Fall over on the MJF Beach Farmgirl Blog!

Everyone who plays in the dirt, craft room, kitchen or farmyard are welcome! FARM-BOYS WELCOME!

Tasty Tuesday~ City Boy Hens Bread and Butter Pickles

Have you met Rick from City Boy Hens?
Rick is a City Boy working on unleashing his inner farmboy and sharing his adventures through his blog City Boy Hens. I spent some time on his blog last week and I know you'll love visiting him too! Rick linked up with us last week on Farmgirl Friday and I wanted to give him a warm welcome!
I love it when farmboy's  joins in to share!

It turns out that I am really a country boy who is trapped in a city boy’s body. It’s all now starting to make sense. I finally understand why I live on a ravine lot that is bordered with a split rail fence, why I made a living building reproduction furniture for 15 years, why my man cave resembles a pioneer homestead in the late 1800s, and why I choose to travel 264 km on a Friday night with wife, kids, dog and chickens in order to have a cup of coffee by “the lake” on a Saturday morning?
~ Rick aka City Boy

This weeks  featured Tasty Tuesday recipe City Boy Bread and Butter Pickles comes from from his homestead kitchen!
Go to City Boy Hens to read the story of how Bread and Butter Pickles got their name and take a gander at a mighty fine tutorial on how to whip up a batch for you and yorn!
