Happy May Day friends!
May Day is the celebration of Spring. I love the idea country folk gathering around the May Pole decorated with ribbons and flowers. Can you hear the music in the distance as the dancing is about to begin? Gathering flowers into a bouquet ( or going a maying ) to bequeath to your loved one was also a popular way to celebrate that spring was here to stay. Sounds wonderfully festive and romantic doesn't it? I'm having my own May Day celebration here at Dandelion House... I've decided to go a maying into my archives for images of spring... Wanna join me?

how are you bringing in the May?
Beautiful photos . Spring has been slow for us but it is getting better now that May is here ! We have had strange weather here it has all flipped on us ! Have a good day !
Things are starting to look so beautiful outside everyone's home!
The tulips are stunning. Love the bright orange ones. Very pretty. So glad that spring is finally with us. I love it when everything starts growing and turning colorful.

We're bringing in May with "Much of the Same"...
There are still a few blooms on my roses, and the Morning Glories while planted a bit late I think, are growing and climbing the fence out front--I don't know if I'll see any blooms. We had some pretty bulbs earlier in the season (actually late Winter?!)
We had southerly breezes and temps in the 90°s today.
Beautiful weather. Your azaleas are beautiful--my favorite flower in your photos today! (I have azalea envy!)
Nothing says springtime like tulips and the ones you have shown are pretty darn showy! It's getting near to time to get in the garden. The warmer weather has made it tempting to take the plunge earlier but there has still been some frosty evenings so I'm trying to be patient.
So lovely...the colorful tulips..hard to pick just one I like. When I got to lilac..I froze up right there...awesome and your picture captured the scent in my mind, one of my favorites of springtime is the Lilac. Thank you... Heading off today to the garden center to breath in and absorb som color and springtime..=)
Your flowers are beautiful! I love the striped tulips.
Beauties -- All!
Oh, did you take all the photos? That means you can see all these beautiful flowers! The first tulips took my breath away! And the lilacs... believe it or not. they are still not blooming in Southern Norway, it has been an incredibly cold spring so far.
But you, you live in such a colorful world!
Yes I did Sonya! Many of them were from last year but at exactly the same time of year...Some of the tulips are from a garden called Blithewold Gardens that we visited on Mothers Day last year and some are from my garden here at home and our beach community! We had a wonderfully warm April and now we are having a wet and gray May...Pray for my little seedlings in the greenhouse!!!
