Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 11

Welcome to Farmgirl Friday blog hop # 11! Where has the last ten weeks gone? I am amazed at all the creative and talented people who enter this hop each week  I wish I could get around to leave a note on your barn door all the time, but as you know " life happens" and of late it's been taking place out doors!
We got our newest batch of  Ameraucana chicks settled into their new run but had to add a couple more feet to the top of the fence because we have a resident coyote who's discovered them! We heard some loud cacklin' coming from the run at 5: 30 am yesterday and we spotted the coyote running around the run, trying to get the girls to fly out! Thank goodness all are safe and sound. I love the coloring on this breeds feathers. Each one is so unique.
It's time to link up for your weekly dose of farmgirl soul food!

Here are the rules for the farmgirl Friday blog hop:

1.) Write a post about your farmgirl lifestyle and brag a little about your farmgirl talents while your at it! Share what being a farmgirl means to you. Include lots of photos of your farm, crafts, animals, quilts, home decor projects and thrifty make overs, your backyard garden, hen house, studio or workshop. You get the idea!
2). Leave a permalink in the Mr. Linky space to your farmgirl Friday post.
3). Please include the farmgirl Friday button ( or link back here ) in your post.

Thanks so much to everyone who enters each week and welcome new followers and subscribers! It's great to  have you here! If you've been linking up on Fridays from Verde Farm please know that Amy is taking a little blogging break and you're most welcome link to Farmgirl Friday! We would love to see you there!

Coyotes are very scary! You should get a guard llama like we have. We also have a guard rooster. We're very safe here.

Beautiful colors. This spring has been the strangest. Too wet to get crops in, then washed away. Now too hot it takes all our time to keep animals cool.
I have heard great things about Alpaca as yard guards.
I chatted with Amy and she is ok but super busy.

They really are unique (each one of them). I'd like to be able to tell mine apart...they all look the same! We hate coyotes here...they're not welcome. You were so very lucky!

Oh, I posted about something getting our chickens this week too--except our story didn't have your happy ending! I'm so mad--you bet I'll be staked out there tonight, just waiting...

Send along my best to Amy--we all know how crazy-busy life can get! Thanks for hosting!

I have to laugh because your Ameraucanas look just as different as all mine! I read somewhere that they are a cross breed making them 'mongrels!' Isn't that funny?! What's not funny is that we too have had to deal with a couple of coyotes ourselves, and already dispatched at least one of them. Several weeks ago we even saw a very LARGE coyote run across our driveway. I almost thought wolf, but I really think it was just a very mature older coyote. Haven't seen that one since. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Neat looking chickens. I so want some!! Still working on begging my husband to ad them...he's so swamped right now with the hay and cows and pigs. One of these days he'll cave. :) Thanks for the link up party. Sorry my "Backwards" entry showed up twice. I seem to have problems entering links lately. :S I couldn't see how to delete it either...maybe you can? Have a super weekend!!

Hi Debra Jean,

Your chicks are beautiful.

Hey I accidentally downloaded two thumbnails. I'm sorry. I'm exhausted. Can you delete one of them?
