You know what time it is? It's time to gather once again with your farmgirl pals from far and wide right here at the Farmgirl Friday Blog Hop # 109!
The weather here on the shorelines has been just glorious! Like many of you, I've been so busy in the garden I don't know which way is up by the time my head hits my pillow at night. What I do know is that I'm loving having " dirt under my nails " again!
It's rare that we get more than a couple of sunny days in a row during spring in New England so we are taking advantage of it by getting two big ( and quite over do ) projects out of the way.
This week on our suburban homestead has been devoted to getting my early annual seeds and flowering bulbs in the ground as well as finally getting round to staining our very faded, weathered deck and spray painting our rusty Gazebo! I'm happy to be getting them checked off the list because the flowers and plants will look so much fresher and prettier this season!
We painted the Gazebo with Satin Black Rustolium spray paint that has rust inhibitors in the paint. I love using black in the garden.. It creates drama and believe it or not makes a great background color for colorful blooms or deep green foliage.
Here's what it looked like last summer with the gardens in full bloom in mid July! I'll share more pics when we get things put back together again!
